Narainapur Rural Municipality has conducted a Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Audit to assess the inclusiveness of its policies, programmes, institutional arrangements and service delivery systems.

The audit workshop was organised by Narainapur Rural Municipality and facilitated by Star Innovation and Research Centre Pvt. Ltd. in accordance with the Gender Audit Procedure, 2080 (2023) issued by the Government of Nepal.

Under the government’s provisions, local governments are required to undertake a GEDSI Audit annually to evaluate the status of gender equality, disability inclusion and social inclusion across various aspects of governance. The assessment reviews policies, plans, programmes, institutional structures, human resources, capacity development initiatives, service delivery mechanisms, governance practices and accountability systems, while also identifying priorities for future action.

The workshop was attended by Chairperson of Narainapur Rural Municipality, Mr Istiyaq Ahmad Shah, Vice-Chairperson Ms Jayanti Devi Srivastava, Ward Chairpersons, Executive Members, Chief Administrative Officer Mr Navaraj Wali, heads of municipal departments and other representatives.

The audit process was facilitated by Mr Chandra Prakash Sharma of Star Innovation and Research Centre Pvt. Ltd.
